D2C and ecommerce
D2C brands: get found on Google and in ChatGPT.
WoofRank helps Indian D2C brands get found on Google and inside ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Mode, so they add orders that do not depend on Meta's next price rise, without long contracts or big-agency fees.
- Product and collection pages that rank for what shoppers type
- Your brand named when a shopper asks AI "which one should I buy?"
- Organic revenue reported next to your paid return, in the same dashboard
The D2C problem
Paid acquisition gets more expensive every quarter. Search does not.
Your CAC is set by an auction you do not control
Every new brand in your category bids up the same Meta and Google audiences. A collection page that ranks for "best cotton kurtas under ₹1,500" keeps producing orders after the ad budget stops.
Shoppers now ask AI which brand to pick
"Is brand A better than brand B for sensitive skin?" gets answered by ChatGPT or Google AI Mode with two or three names. If yours is not one of them, that shopper never sees your ad either.
Traffic without conversion is a bill
Product pages with slow images, thin descriptions and a five-step checkout waste every visit you paid for. Conversion work is where most D2C accounts have the fastest win.
What we do for D2C brands
Six things, in the order that usually pays back fastest.
Fix the store's technical SEO
Collection pagination and faceted URLs, duplicate variant pages, image weight, theme scripts that hurt Core Web Vitals, Product and Offer schema, and the CDN rules that decide whether AI crawlers can even see you.
Rank collection and product pages
Keyword-mapped collection pages with real copy, product descriptions written for the search and the shopper, and internal links from your content to the pages that sell.
Answer the comparison questions
"Best X under ₹Y", "A vs B", "is X worth it", buying guides and ingredient or material explainers. Written answer-first so Google and AI engines quote them, and linked straight to the products.
Get named in AI answers
A fixed set of shopper prompts run across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI every month, presence on the review sites and listicles the engines cite, and an entity the engines can identify.
Shopping and Meta ads that pay
Catalogue fixed first, then Shopping, Performance Max and Meta campaigns run to a return on ad spend agreed against your margins. Weekly search-term and creative cuts.
Convert and retain
Product page and checkout friction fixed, reviews and trust signals in place, then email flows for abandoned carts, post-purchase and repeat orders. Repeat rate is the D2C metric that decides profitability.
What we report
D2C numbers, not marketing numbers.
| Metric | Why it is on page one of the report |
|---|---|
| Organic revenue and orders | What the search work is worth in rupees, from GA4 and your store |
| Blended CAC and ROAS | What a customer costs across paid and organic, against your margin |
| AOV and repeat rate | Whether the customers we bring are the right ones |
| Rankings for money terms | Collection and product page positions for the searches that convert |
| AI mention rate | Share of shopper prompts where your brand is named, per engine |
| Product page and checkout conversion | Where visits are lost, and whether the fixes worked |
Platform specifics
Shopify and WooCommerce, handled properly.
Shopify. We work inside your theme and apps rather than around them: metafields for SEO copy, canonical and pagination behaviour on collections, the tag and filter URLs that create thousands of thin pages, image and app-script weight, Shopify's bot settings and, where you use Cloudflare, the rules that block AI crawlers by default. Product, Offer, Review and Organization schema are checked, not assumed.
WooCommerce. Hosting and caching first, because most slow WooCommerce stores are slow at the server. Then category and attribute URL handling, variation pages, plugin bloat, structured data conflicts between plugins, and a sane sitemap. We do not touch your checkout plugins without a staging site.
Both. Google Merchant Center and the product feed are fixed before any Shopping campaign runs, because a broken feed wastes budget silently.
FAQ
Questions D2C founders ask us
We spend most of our budget on Meta. Why would SEO help?
Because Meta costs rise as your category gets crowded and stop the moment you pause. A collection page that ranks keeps producing orders month after month at no extra cost per click. We run both: ads for this quarter's revenue, search for a cost of acquisition that falls over time.
How long until organic orders show up?
Technical fixes and product page work can move things within weeks if the store was badly set up. New collection and comparison content usually takes three to six months to rank for terms that convert. We give you a written timeline after the SNIFF audit, based on your store and category.
Does AI search matter for a D2C brand?
Increasingly. Google launched AI Mode in India in July 2025 and AI Overviews already sit above many product searches. Shoppers ask ChatGPT and Gemini "which brand should I buy". The free visibility check shows you what those engines say about your brand today, in two working days.
What SEO mistakes do most D2C stores make?
The same five, in most D2C stores we have looked at, before and since WoofRank: collection pages with no text; thousands of thin filter and tag URLs indexed; product descriptions copied from the supplier; a slow theme weighed down by apps and uncompressed images; and a CDN or theme setting that blocks AI crawlers without anyone knowing. All five are fixable in the first month, and they are usually where the fastest gains are.
Can SEO work for a brand that also sells on Amazon or Flipkart?
Yes, and it usually should. Marketplace listings rank for the product name, but they do not rank for the buying guides, comparisons and ingredient questions that bring in new customers, and they do not build a brand the AI engines can recognise. Your own site earns those searches, then routes buyers to whichever channel converts best for them.
Can you work with our Shopify developer or agency?
Yes. We send specific, tested change requests with priorities, and we are happy to implement inside the theme ourselves if you prefer. Nothing goes live on the store without your approval.
What is the minimum spend for ads?
For ads management we suggest at least ₹50,000 a month of media spend, otherwise the management fee outweighs the gain. Below that, start with the SNIFF ad audit and a fix list, or put the budget into search and conversion work first.
How much does it cost, and when does it pay for itself?
Search packages start at ₹15,000 for the one-time SNIFF audit and ₹45,000 a month for the FETCH retainer, plus a ₹15,000 setup, so the three-month minimum commits ₹1.5 lakh before GST. Worked example, hypothetical: at ₹1,200 average order value and 55% gross margin, FETCH covers its own fee at roughly 70 incremental organic orders a month. SNIFF gives you that number for your own store and category, with a timeline. Everything is on the pricing page, excluding GST and ad spend.
Do you report our Meta and Google returns next to organic?
Yes, in the same Looker Studio dashboard, using read-only access to your ad accounts, whether or not we run the ads. Blended cost of acquisition only means something when paid and organic sit side by side, so the FETCH search retainer includes that view.
